Make Oregon Matter is a grassroots campaign to move Oregon’s presidential primary from May to Super Tuesday (the first Tuesday in March), so our votes count while the race is still competitive.

This initiative was sparked by a group of concerned, everyday Oregonians who were frustrated by our state’s consistent lack of influence in the national primary process. With zero dollars to our name — just the passion of regular citizens, we’ve launched a movement to Make Oregon Matter! Now, we’re building a coalition of individuals, volunteers, and organizations to get this on the ballot in November 2026.

What the Initiative Does

This measure updates ORS 254.056 to change Oregon’s primary date from May to March, aligning it with Super Tuesday, when many other states vote. This move would:

• Give Oregon voters a real say in picking presidential nominees while candidates are still actively competing for national support

• Boost turnout in down-ballot races

• Preserve Oregon’s full delegate count under DNC and RNC party rules

Why It Matters

By the time Oregon votes in May, the presidential race is often all but over — most candidates have dropped out, and the nominees are already clear. That leaves Oregon with little real influence. Moving our primary to Super Tuesday would give Oregonians a meaningful voice when it matters most and ensure our priorities are part of the national conversation.

What We Need

To qualify for the 2026 ballot, we must collect 117,173 valid signatures by June 2026. We're seeking:

• Volunteers to help gather signatures

• Organizations to help spread the word

• Donors and sponsors to help fund outreach (we don’t pay circulators - yet!)
